The W7BJH Echolink Node Details
Also hosted temporarily are the Salem Amateur Radio Club's (W7SAA) IRLP node details and operating procedures. You'll find those below.
Echolink and IRLP usage is limited to licensed amateur radio operators. Echolink and IRLP utilize voice over IP meaning they utilize the internet as relay of the signal. Remember that when operating voice over IP (VOIP) be it over repeater links or simplex links there is typically a slight delay, because of this it is good practice to press your PTT button and delay your speech 2 to 3 seconds to avoid any loss of your message. Once you tune in to the frequency on which the node is parked standby and listen for a moment to be sure the node is not in use and you may want to ask; "This is W7BJH, is this node in use?" Always be sure to identify yourself before entering DTMF codes as well; "This is W7BJH"...then DTMF codes.

| Echolink Control: | I have opted to maintain the default DTMF codes for my Echolink installation. You will find them listed below. I have also installed an Echolink add-on called EchoProducer, this add-on offers a lot of options such as weather reports, news, beacons, etc. EchoProducer has it's own unique set of DTMF codes to activate a plethora of options and it has many settings that can be tweaked. I'm still doing some tweaking, so if you notice anything funny from time to time I'm working on it. There are a few additional DTMF codes that are related to EchoProducer and that I'll share below. |
